Greg Abbott and his accident 37 years ago

Texas Governor made the news recently banning the Covid vaccine mandate in Texas. That provoked me to think about his natal chart and the time of his birth popped up in my head. I checked it and it seems to work.

He had favorable directions for the victorious gubernatorial elections of 2014 and 2018:

So he does for the 2022 elections.

That’s pretty boring! So I decided to look at what was happening for Abbott in all prognosis methods for July 14th, 1984 when a tree fell on him and he ended up being left paralyzed from the waist down for at least 37 years.

Let’s start with Greg’s own words about the accident: “I’ve done more AFTER the accident that left me paralyzed than before that accident. With God all things are possible” And one more quote: “I’m a testament that the glory of God is revealed by a young man’s back being broken in half and still rising up to be Governor of Texas”.

This time I’ll start the research from the “end” and look at the prognosis first.

Directions: 3 formulas 1/8 (threat to life); Moon-6th House conjunction (chances to find yourself on the hospital bed are high). And the most intriguing – Saturn arrived at the cusp of the 12th House, composing the 1/6 (I am in the hospital) and the 12/12 (mysterious, unexplainable events) formulas.

Solar return: 4 planets in the 6th House “voting” for being in hospital (among them Uranus – the ruler of the most sudden events and spiritual Neptune); Moon in the 9th House (strong spiritual experience); and Saturn makes a trine to the cusp of the 6th House (hospital because of problems with spine).

Transits: again Saturn-6th House trine.

As we see, Saturn is the most “active participant” of all prognosis methods. Let’s go to the natal chart and explore what role Saturn plays in Greg Abbott’s life.

His leading elements are Fire (fighter, active, leader) and Water (intuition, adaptability, understanding others).

Interestingly, he has Neptune as ruler of the 2nd House, Lilith on the cusp of the 2nd House, and Venus on the cusp of the 12th House – all those indicators are about earning money in a weird, non-traditional way. After the incident, Abbott sued the homeowner and the tree service company. According to the Texas Tribune’s 2013 article “In 1986, the first year the settlement took effect, he (Abbott) received a lump-sum payment of $300,000 and began collecting monthly payments of $5,000. Today, using the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics inflation calculator, that first lump sum payment would be worth about $640,000 and the first monthly payment would be worth an estimated $10,600”.

The strongest planets in Governor’s chart are Mars in conjunction with Neptune (impulse, leadership, creativity based on intuition, keeping some actions in secret, actions based on belief), Moon in conjunction with Uranus in 7th House (adaptability, feeling comfortable shocking public, understanding public’s feelings and needs), and, no surprise – Pluto (pushing to the limits, manipulation, transformation).

And what about Saturn? It stands in his own 10th House, has only light aspects. From first sight, there is no potential problem with it. My idea would be to look at the disposition chain: Saturn (Abbott’s foundation, core, desire to be on top) depends on Jupiter (values, expansion), Jupiter depends on Venus (money, capability of being satisfied), Venus depends back on Saturn. Two of the three planets from this chain are in the 8th and 12th Houses – Houses that show what energies a person should understand, rethink and find a new, more productive way to manage and use. In addition, Jupiter in 8th House is not part of Greg’s personality. That means that his understanding of values, what’s right/wrong is external, learned from a traumatic, stressful experience (8th House). And in my opinion, that’s can bring some distortion in this sphere. Also, Jupiter (the moral values) is ruled by Venus (money) in Capricorn in the 12th House with a trine from Neptune. That may cultivate motivation of regularly (Capricorn) getting money (Venus) from being a victim (Neptune and the 12th House).

Saturn is a minor ruler of Abbott’s natal chart. And as such it makes Saturn and the above-mentioned chain an important part of Greg’s life. So when Saturn in Directions made conjunction with Venus and arrived at the cusp of the 12th House, I think it triggered the chain “victim-money-values-status” and brought Abbott to where his new life started. It’s not a coincidence the incident happened the year Abbott turned 27. This is Saturn’s half-return.

The most interesting is not even what happened to Greg Abbott 37 years ago. The most exciting is to observe what will happen to him now. It’s another Saturn’s half-return. And look at Directions:

Again multiple 1/8 and the 1/6, 6/6, and 12/12 formulas which are composed of the same Moon and Saturn. Where is my popcorn?!
